About Us

Our Story

Tail Wag Inn was built from lived experience — as dog owners, as parents, and as a family that understands how deeply environment, routine, and trust matter.

Our journey with our daughter, Mae, who is autistic, reshaped how we think about care. It taught us that individuals don’t thrive when they’re forced into a system — they thrive when the system is built around them. That belief is at the heart of how we care for dogs. Every dog is different, and their care should reflect that.

Tail Wag Inn is also shaped by Bobby’s background as a K9 officer and unit leader. Years spent working alongside dogs in high-responsibility roles reinforced the importance of calm structure, consistency, and clear communication. That experience informs how we design routines, handle dogs, and create an environment that supports confidence rather than chaos.

We intentionally built Tail Wag Inn as a smaller, family-run facility — a quiet, structured space designed to feel safe without being overwhelming. By focusing on quality over quantity, we’re able to provide individualized care, honest communication, and an experience that feels personal rather than transactional.

This isn’t a high-volume kennel. It’s a place built with intention — for dogs who deserve to be known, respected, and cared for as individuals.

Our Facility

Tail Wag Inn is located on a private 7-acre property in New Springfield, Ohio, offering dogs a quiet, controlled setting away from the congestion and noise of traditional boarding environments.

Dogs are housed in individual kennels designed for comfort, security, and cleanliness — never overcrowded and never chaotic. The facility features heated floors, providing consistent warmth and comfort throughout the year, especially during colder months.

The building itself was constructed with sanitation and durability in mind. Sealed concrete and epoxy flooring, along with Trusscore wall systems, allow for thorough cleaning and disinfection while maintaining a clean, bright, and professional environment. Every surface was chosen intentionally to support hygiene, safety, and long-term upkeep.

Beyond kennel spaces, dogs have access to open, supervised areas for movement, enrichment, and downtime without overstimulation. We’ve also cut walking trails through our back field, allowing dogs to experience fresh air and natural movement as part of their structured routine.

In addition to the main kennel areas, we maintain a separate, quiet indoor space where dogs can relax, cuddle, or simply spend time with us — particularly beneficial for dogs who thrive with additional human connection or need a calmer break from kennel time.

Every aspect of our facility was built with purpose. From materials and layout to warmth, space, and routine, Tail Wag Inn is designed to support dogs who do best in an environment that feels thoughtful, clean, and intentionally calm.
